The Japa Mala has 108 round beads, which together form a circle. The origin of the Japa Mala is located in ancient India and the first references of this meditation necklace are about 6000 years ago.
Its etymology is derived from the Sanskrit Japa, which means to murmur prayers and mala, which translates as garland.
