Palo Santo bundle from Peru

Native to Peru, our Palo Santo or "sacred wood" (bursera graveolens).

It is a magical tree with extraordinary medicinal virtues, whose essential compounds are found in the aroma that the wood exudes once burned or distilled.

Centuries ago, Inca shamans and healers in the Andes Mountains spread its purifying and protective gift. Among the Maskoy Indians, it is believed that the smoke from a bonfire with Palo Santo drives away evil spirits from the village - the clarity with which its flames manifest themselves confers this. Unlike other plants or trees from which incense is traditionally extracted, Palo Santo requires only to light a small piece of dry wood to release a column of smoke that ends up enveloping the atmosphere, and this aromatic smoke released by the wood is attributed the ability to increase vibrations in the body, so it is recommended to use it at the time of starting a meditation. Palo Santo is so rich in properties that each part of the tree can be used for different purposes, including depurative, sedative, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic and anti-carcinogenic functions. On a metaphysical level, certain groups consider it to be an effective repellent of negative energies, and it should be noted that its benefits can only be enjoyed after 4 to 10 years have passed since its trunk dies, and generally Palo Santo collectors gather only the wood they find on the ground, from trees that have died naturally. This gives it a different kind of anima, one that gives us everything absorbed by the tree.
